The Servants Bookstore and Coffee Bar A SECOND WIND
Praise be to the One Who has carried us over the finishing line! He is faithful and merciful, and full of grace.
With construction finally complete and our certificate of occupancy received, we opened for business on Monday, March 24th. As week two draws to a close, I am so happy to say that I have already met quite a few brothers and sisters from surrounding churches and other ministries. It strengthens the soul to get to know fellow soldiers.
Although one part of the race has seemingly ended, our pace has quickened, and I believe God has given us a "second wind."
Have you ever experienced a "second wind?" I did once when I was in eighth grade track. Because I was never a fast runner, I was only able to compete in the Mile race; my capacity for endurance exceeded most, even then.
I'll never forget when, during one particular track meet, I was in third or fourth place during my race, but as I passed the half-way point on my last lap, I suddenly felt a surge of energy that seemed to "oxygenate" my entire bloodstream, and I willfully chose (and was able!) to pick up the pace to a near sprint! I had never been able to sprint before. And yet, here when I was most tired, I was suddenly able to run faster than I had ever run before (and faster than I have ever been able to run since).
May God through His Spirit again fill us with the desire and the faith and the power to CONTINUE this race, for as long as He wills, and for as long as it takes, to accomplish His purpose for this store.
Thank you all, for your support and for the generous encouragement you have been giving to us. It, too, has been strengthening to us.
