The Servant's Bookstore and Coffee Bar Blog
 | Welcome to our new Blog! We are excited to have this opportunity to interact with you and help keep you informed on all the great things that are going on (especially on the progress of construction on our new building!). Our site is a great place to discover the many ways we can help you with books for leisure or study, music for a long car trip or to sing along to in your car, DVDs for you and the kids and more! Check back often for new information and leave us questions or comments so we can help serve you better. For our "store verse" truly expresses our desire: to be --and to help you become-- servants to all, that we may win some to Christ. (I Corinthians 9:19) |

GETTING CLOSER...:
Posted 11/4/2007 4:21:53 PM It is a wonderful relief to finally have some of the parking lot paved, and to get the old brick house demolished and removed from the spot where the greater portion of our parking lot will be. The LORD has surely blessed us; we were left with an abandoned pile of rubble by an unscrupulous demolition company, but God provided a good man to finish the job, and I highly recommend him for any such job you may have for him: Chris Husley, of Kemp. He is a man of his word and he worked diligently until the job was done, and done well. Hopefully, this week we will pass the framing inspection and be able to get the drywall, and taping/bedding completed. Then, it is trimwork, painting and flooring! We are definitely getting closer! We appreciate any prayers you may offer on our behalf, that we could finish construction in time to open for the Christmas holiday season. Our LORD provides and we know He will continue to do so, and His timing is perfect. Please pray for patience and that our faith will grow through the waiting!
FINALLY GETTING SOMEWHERE:
Posted 8/14/2007 6:55:53 AM Hallelujah! If you''ve driven down Washington Street lately, you''ve probably seen the skeleton of our new building. It is a great relief to get the framing started; it feels like we are finally getting somewhere! For a "visual" person like me, the walls and roof are comforting: tangible evidence that our project has not merely been a dream!
When I learn how to attach/send photos of the progress of construction, I will add them to this blog. (If it is possible; if it is not, I''ll try to add photos to the website in general, in case there are any other VISUAL people like me out there.) :)
If you have a few moments when you drive by, please feel welcome to stop and say, "Hello!" Gary gave me a cypress swing set for my fortieth birthday (not a Mustang convertible, but oh well; I''m still very happy!) and I have placed it under the very large tree beside the store. The shade is refreshing, and I would enjoy your company as we swing in comfort while we watch the construction crew slaving away in the sun. (Sometimes I can be so mean!) :)
God''s blessing on all you do for Him today!
